INOV.AM Agenda attends “In Market – Technology and Innovation for the Future” event

At the In Market – Technology and Innovation for the Future event, held on February 25 at the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, the INOV.AM Agenda had the opportunity to present the results of the agenda, focusing on three of its 24 Work Packages (WP), which are fundamental for innovation and technological advancement in the regional/national ecosystem. These WP are:

WP6 – Training and Capacity Building Platform

Work Package 6 (WP6) is responsible for implementing a Training Academy that covers the national territory and enables the rapid training of human resources so that companies can use the AF.

The Academy will be created to offer theoretical and practical knowledge, helping with the digital transition and increasing the use of AF in industry. With teaching centers, the Academy will also have the capacity to validate technologies, materials and processes, meeting the needs of companies and developing specific tests to meet industrial challenges.

The project has two main objectives: firstly, to qualify Human Resources to optimize the use of AF technologies in areas such as management, technique and operation; and secondly, to create four teaching centers in different locations (Guimarães, Leiria, Marinha Grande and Oeiras) to train these professionals with the necessary skills.

WP18 – Glass.AM

Work Package 18 (WP18) aims to develop additive manufacturing systems for glass and crystal.

The additive manufacturing of glass will open up possibilities for studies on the application of additive manufacturing in the field of glass and, above all, will explore the use of an additive manufacturing technology capable of producing objects in materials with high melting points without the need to use traditional furnaces, thus contributing to a drastic reduction in energy bills. This will make it possible to produce pieces in colorless or multicolored glass, with no limits on shape or geometry.

WP21 – 3DNutrients4Food

Work Package 21 (WP21) explores the future of 3D food printing, enabling the creation of personalized, ready-to-eat meals tailored to individual dietary needs. It also seeks to improve the bioaccessibility of nutrients, making them easier for the body to absorb. By using algae and agro-industry by-products, which would normally be discarded, as nutrient-rich ingredients, the project aims to reduce food waste and create food with attractive textures. 3D printing will help transform food waste into perfectly edible food.

The presentation of these WP’s was attended by representatives of the Polytechnic of Leiria and partner companies, reinforcing the INOV.AM Agenda’s commitment to knowledge transfer and innovation in the market.

This event was part of the INOVC+ project initiatives and its aim was to enhance and transfer innovative technologies and products developed in the R&D activities of the Polytechnic of Leiria.
