The INOV.AM Agenda has been making its presence felt at leading national and international events, consolidating its commitment to sustainable innovation, the energy transition and promoting the circular economy. In recent months, it has been represented at three meetings of high scientific and technological relevance, through its partners.
Between June 11 and 13, the PIEP partner took part in the international conference CEES 2025 – The Third International Conference on Construction, Energy, Environment and Sustainability, held at the Polytechnic of Bari, Italy. The event brought together more than 300 experts and researchers, and PIEP presented the study “Comparative Environmental Impacts of Condensing Unit Production: A Life Cycle Assessment Approach of Poland and Portugal’s Energy Mix”. The work highlighted the importance of the energy mix in industry’s environmental footprint, underlining the fundamental role of renewable energies in decarbonizing production processes. This research reinforces the INOV.AM Agenda’s role as a promoter of technological solutions aligned with the principles of industrial sustainability.
Between June 16 and 18, the eSpinning research team took part in ICNF 2025 – International Conference on Natural Fibers, in Lisbon. Three innovative projects developed under the INOV.AM Agenda were presented at the event, focusing on the intersection between electrospinning technology, the use of natural fibers and their biomedical applications. The works presented were: “Hybrid Electrospun Structure to Promote Regeneration in Periodontal Disease”, by Lidia Vaculenco; “3D Printing of Gelatin Hydrogels Reinforced with Short Electrospun Fibers”, by Nikoletta Varha and “Modified Electrospun Meshes with Chitosan and Gelatin for Wound Healing Applications”, by Daniela Gonçalves. These projects show the potential of applying sustainable materials and advanced technologies to develop solutions for biomedicine.
On June 16, Agenda INOV.AM was invited by its partner, the Polytechnic of Leiria, to the event Circular Economy | A path to competitiveness and innovation in the Central Region, promoted by the CCDR Centro, at the Convento São Francisco in Coimbra. The meeting brought together political decision-makers, researchers, representatives of companies and civil society to share good practices and strategies for speeding up the transition to a more circular economy. INOV.AM had the opportunity to present some of its technological and sustainable products and solutions, namely advanced and ecological materials, ceramics developed with different paste formulations, natural-based materials (thermoplastic filament), cork composites with a polymer matrix, and personalized, nutritious, and sustainable food produced through 3D printing, using nutrients and by-products from the agro-industry.
The INOV.AM Agenda’s participation in these events makes it possible to highlight and give visibility to the work carried out, enabling contact with other projects and the sharing of knowledge. This contributes to technological and scientific progress in strategic areas such as sustainable innovation and the energy transition.
