PPS04 – Hybrid Manufacturing Systems for Molds and Tools

PPS04 - Hybrid Manufacturing Systems for Molds and Tools

PPS04 aims to deliver TRL7 hybrid metal production systems by the end of the agenda. These systems, capable of additive and subtractive manufacturing within a single setup, will enable the repair and/or manufacturing of specific structures in molds and tools. Developed within WPs 8, 9, and 10, the project will produce at least three new hybrid manufacturing systems, each designed for specialised applications:

  • WP8 – A portable, lightweight system that combines additive and subtractive manufacturing (and/or dimensional finishing) for quick and precise repair and alteration of molds, allowing for on-site adjustments with minimal downtime.
  • WP9 – A robotized manufacturing cell designed for laser deposition and machining, providing automated, high-precision solutions for complex manufacturing tasks.
  • WP10 – A hybrid manufacturing cell based on extrusion and machining processes, offering versatile capabilities for additive and subtractive manufacturing in a single cell.
